Latin
In May of 2024 after honeymooning in Belgium I read this article by Luke Smith which linked to the Dowling Method and decided to commit to learning at least some Latin. Soon after reading these articles I ordered a copy of Hans Ørberg's excellent LLPSI: Familia Romana and the James Morwood Oxford Latin Grammar reference and got to work.
Fast forward to now and I've finished Familia Romana and I'm taking my time with the first chapter of Roma Aeterna. I can read most Latin I come across IRL (cathedrals, old monuments etc.) and can get the gist of a lot of old texts (Caesar, Cicero).
Now I'm at the point of being limited by vocabulary and some more idiomatic ways of phrasing things. I'm seriously happy with my progress though and hope to continue pushing myself closer and closer to proper fluency.
